Chris Clay MA (Hons)

Chris graduated from Leicester University with a Degree in Archaeology and Ancient History in 1997 and followed this with an MA in Archaeology: Post Excavation Skills the following year. Chris worked as an archaeologist across the UK, and supervised survey and excavation projects in Greece, returning to Lincolnshire in 2000, he joined Allen Archaeology as a partner in 2006. Chris has considerable experience of producing desk-based assessments and contributions to Environmental Impact Assessments and oversees this aspect of the company’s work, whilst also producing specifications and costings for a range of development projects. Chris is an experienced archaeological building surveyor, specialising in agricultural buildings and is a member of the Historic Farm Buildings Group. He knows more about Roman forts than anyone really needs to.
